Product Descriptions

Take Your Vacation. Don't Let it Take You.

Okay, a little dramatic, but that's the tagline I came up with for one of the first brands I ever worked on.

As a ski resort town above 8000' elevation, Aspen, Colorado is flooded every year with affluent tourists hyped for drinking, skiing, and other miscellaneous excursions.

For those that are experiencing altitude sickness, (or perhaps, more accurately, for those that had a few too many the night before,) Aspen IV Bar will bring a registered nurse straight to your door and strap you with an oxygen mask to flush your system by injecting electrolytes and vitamins, straight to the veins. Ahh, that's the good stuff!

FlexFitFoamTM Technology (and other fun sneaker stuff)

As the lead copywriter for Eastbay's basketball brands, I was tasked with writing several hundred product descriptions for Nike, Adidas, and Jordan products.

Eastbay eventually merged with Foot Locker, which recently got absorbed by Champs. (Market consolidation for the win!)

I was able to salvage a few examples of copy from the internet archives. Safe travels on your way back to 2014!

"Back in my day..."

My first professional job was an internship with Commercial Fine Art, (now Matt Anderson Photography,) a start-up commercial seller of beautiful photography. I was tasked with writing copy for 24 gallery categories and descriptions of each piece within them. Unfortunately, this was eons ago in internet time, so not much else remains beyond the three gallery descriptions below. (These are ancient artifacts. You're basically an internet paleontologist!)

I hold this project near-and-dear to my heart because it places me fondly in the nostalgic past; it conjures up feelings I had as an innocent, bright-eyed 21 year-old kid who hadn't yet suffered a major life loss, endured a Donald Trump presidency, or survived a global pandemic and 40-year high inflationary period.

Anyway...

Bonus points if you can spot the grammatical error!
